Interested in Weight Loss Shots?

  • Ozempic (semaglutide)

  • Wegovy (semaglutide)

  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide)

  • Zepbound (tirzepatide)

Who are weight loss shots for?

They are FDA approved for BMI of 30+, or 27-29.9 if you also have a weight-related medical condition (sleep apnea, hypertension, pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, PCOS, others).

How long do i have to stay on the shots?

These medications only work while you’re on them. YOU WILL REGAIN MOST IF NOT ALL of the weight lost when you stop. This has been proven in multiple studies on large number of people. Obesity is a chronic (incurable) disease of dysregulated appetite and metabolism. Appetite-suppressing drugs only work temporarily. They are most appropriate for people with a weight-related medical condition who want to stay healthy by staying on their medication long-term.

Medication Cost

If your insurance doesn’t cover semaglutide (Ozempic and Wegovy), we will send your prescription to Northwest Compounders in Beaverton, a fully licensed compounding pharmacy creating custom medications since 2005. They charge $68 per dose of semaglutide. As of 10/05/24, tirzepatide (Mounjaro and Zepbound) is no longer on the FDA shortage list and is therefore no longer legally allowed to be compounded. The drug manufacturer Lilly sells single-dose vials of Zepbound for $550 for 4 vials (1 month supply).

If your insurance covers your medication, we’re happy to submit the necessary authorizations. Note that Ozempic and Mounjaro are only covered for those with diabetes. If you don’t have diabetes, ask your insurance if they cover Wegovy or Zepbound (the brands approved for weight loss).

Are compounded medications Safe?

Read this short article on Northwest Compounder’s website. It’s a good summary of their safety practices, and how certain unscrupulous pharmacies have given legitimate, licensed, regulated, longstanding compounding pharmacies a bad rap!
